It’s once again time for our usually-twice-yearly dose of MM-Eh as UFC is headed to Canada this weekend for the first of 2 Canada events this summer-in fact, 2 of the next 3 UFCs are up north. This weekend’s UFC 113 actually was planned for this past Saturday (May 1), but when boxing interfered in the form of Mayweather-Mosley on PPV UFC decided to move their event back a week to avoid going head-to-head. As usual 113 will be Canada-heavy even though Canadian posterboy Georges St. Pierre won’t be in action (you know he’ll be cage-side though) and will be headlined by the rematch of Ryoto (Lyoto) Machida vs. Mauricio Rua for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. When it comes to UFC the prognosticator has been hot & cold these last few PPVs (he’d rather forget the abomination that was a 2-9 WEC 48), he’ll try to get back to hot with this event. Funny MMA Video Of The Day: Weakest KO Ever?

Those who claim MMA is fixed might have some ammo thanks to this GIF. On Friday in Russia, Aleksander Emelianenko, the brother of that Fedor guy, faced Eddy Bengtsson in Moscow and won by KO in 40 seconds. Apparently without even landing a punch! WTF, you say?!? The long-rumored debut of WEC on PPV finally happens this Saturday night, and WEC & Zuffa are pulling out all the stops for the big premiere. The UFC commentating crew of Mike Goldberg & Joe Rogan and cage announcer Bruce Buffer will work the event, the fight card is loaded as usual and headlined by WEC poster boy Urijah Faber, and it’s in one of the WEC hotbeds-Faber’s backyard of Sacramento, CA. And it’ll be a loaded card with both Lightweight & Middleweight Title fights scheduled and the debut of another Gracie in the Octagon. And Once Again All Is Right In The World…

Our favorite basket case, War Machine, is at it again. What TMZ said:

Several San Diego police swarmed in on former UFC bad boy War Machine last night and threw a spit bag on his head after cops say the dude assaulted someone with a deadly weapon.

TMZ has learned Machine — which is the fighter’s legal name — was arrested outside a bar called Thruster’s Lounge around 11 pm.

Law enforcement sources tell us Machine and another male were fighting with bouncers — and when cops tried to approach the situation, War Machine took off running.

Eventually, cops caught up with the 28-year-old, threw him in handcuffs, and for some reason, put a spit bag over his head … which is generally applied when the perp gets a little too aggressive with his oral fluids.

Machine was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon — though it’s unclear what the weapon is. He’s currently being held in a SD jail.

So let’s recap his last year or so: Gets kicked out of UFC, changes his legal name from Jon Koppenhaver to War Machine, lived every single lonely guy’s dream of becoming a porn star (admit it, guys), got arrested a couple times, swore he was going to settle down with his fiance and open a gym, get married, and change his ways…yeah, he said that long ago. Monday, to be specific. Then he gets arrested Tuesday. And I’m not even going near his slightly offensive Twitter post a couple weeks ago. Oh, and he’s supposed to have a fight in a little over 2 weeks…I keep telling anyone who will listen, he needs to fight Junie Browning! Even better, hold it in Big Japan Pro Wrestling and make it a Razor Board + @ No Rope Barbed Wire Flourescent Lighttubes Death Match. That’ll do the trick. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Yeah, I found this just the tiniest bit funny. As I typicall do with anything involving this guy or Browning. There, got it all out. My best guess as to all this? Apparently he thought he was at a New Jersey Nets game. Wearing a bag gets you a goody bag of Nets gear. And maybe, if you’re really lucky, lunch with the CEO. Bag lunch of course.

Funny MMA Video Of The Day: Even Fighters Wear Masks!

It’s not just a wrestling thing, apparently. This past Saturday night, while we were all watching hoops & UFC 111, Kim Couture-yes, the former Mrs. Randy Couture and the fighter bold (crazy) enough to wear a near-thong to weigh-ins once-was fighting in Mexico against a fighter who basically took the fight on no notice when plans fell apart. The funny part is being in Mexico, she & her corner came out in Lucha-style masks: I recognized a Spider-Man mask, a Chivas mask (something I’ve seen in CHIKARA) and others. Confuseyus: UFC On Versus, UFC 111, UFN 21 & DREAM 13 Predictions (Updated)

After a bit of downtime we’re upon another great stretch of MMA-not one, not two, not three, but FOUR events in just 10 days starting this weekend! OK, 5 if you count Strikeforce Challengers, but here we’re not. It starts this Sunday with UFC’s first event on Versus featuring Brandon Vera vs. Jon Jones in a match of top Light Heavyweight contenders, then the following Saturday UFC returns to New Jersey for UFC 111 with Georges St. Pierre defending the UFC Welterweight Championship against Dan Hardy and Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir for the Interim Heavyweight Championship and perhaps Brock Lesnar in July, finally it’s to North Carolina on 3/31 for UFN 21 featuring TUF 10 winner Roy Nelson’s “official” debut and the UFC return of former PRIDE Lightweight Champion Takanori Gomi. Funny MMA Video Of The Day: GSP-Georges St. Pimp

If you frequent MMA blogs and video channels you may know of a funny series of videos called “Riddum Revenge”, which take popular MMA stars and recent themes and turn them into ridiculously funny mashups. Just hitting the net today is the 7th such video, featuring Georges St. Pierre becoming Georges St. Pimp and trying his hand at the world’s oldest profession.
