Capital Pursuit: The Washington Capitals’ Chase For The Stanley Cup: Conf. Semis Game 4

Posted by representingpuroresu on 05/09/2009

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continue for several teams, including my hometown Washington Capitals. Click below to read my thoughts on last night’s Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 4 between the Caps & Pittsburgh Penguins.

Just what I was afraid of…it has begun. A 2-0 Caps advantage is now 2-2. The first goal early on didn’t mean much as it all fell apart quickly in a 5-3 Pittsburgh win. The Pens got 3 in the 1st after Washington’s first goal, and while the Caps did rally back to tie it at 3-3 it wasn’t enough as the Pens got 2 in the 3rd to put it away. 1 goal from Crosby last night, none from Ovechkin but he might hear from the NHL on a knee-knee hit that took out former Caps defenseman Sergei Gonchar. And there’s little time to recover, the reason for 2 games in 2 nights is because of a Yanni concert in Pittsburgh Tuesday night. Some scheduling. It’s basically must-win again for the Caps tonight because Game 6 will be back in Pittsburgh and they don’t want to be down 3-2 there.

Game 5 is tonight in Washington. Game 6 will be Monday in Pittsburgh. Both games will air on Versus in the US and on CBC in Canada.
