Brock Lesnar Is Beatable!

But that’s bad news for the rest of us. Word broke a short time ago that the UFC Heavyweight Champion is off UFC 106 due to illness. Something he’s been fighting for 3+ weeks and it’s kept him from training. UFC president Dana White doesn’t think it’s that pig flu going around. From my past experience, this sounds like some kind of infection. We’re waiting to hear what happens now-either they reschedule Lesnar-Shane Carwni for the title or they roll the dice and give Carwin someone else. Geez, and this not long after Carwin went on record saying his first defense after he won the title would be Cain Velasquez. Shane vs. Cain again now, perhaps? We’ll see what happens but major bummer. I was looking forward to this.

The Iceman Danceth No More…

Chuck Liddell was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars last night. It was between Chuck, Aaron Carter and Louie Vito. Ultimately Chuck got Das Boot.His post-show speech: “I had fun. We had a good time. We made a run at it, but it’s difficult. It’s hard to do.” Indeed. Disappointed it ends now but a great run nonetheless.
That means no more Dancing recaps for me, at least this season. Now it’s back to pondering his next move. More TV? Back to UFC? We Shall See.

They got 17 points, which ties them for 3rd-worst (Michael Irvin and Tom DeLay were worse and 2nd-worst, Chuck is tied for 3rd-worst with Debi Mazar). Hopefully they’ll get enough votes to stay safe another week. VOTE FOR CHUCK!

Confuseyus: UFC Fight Night 19 & UFC 103 Predictions

It’s a rare doubleshot for UFC next week with 2 shows in just 4 days-Wednesday starts things off with UFC Fight Night 19 leading into the much-anticipated premiere of The Ultimate Fighter 10, then the following Saturday it’s off to Dallas for UFC 103, headlined by Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfort.
Since both shows are so close together I’ll do quick predictions for both in one post here. No time for detailed stuff again though.

Otherwise it could get ugly. And hilarious. As part of it’s ads for Norton Internet Security 2010, the software’s maker has come up with a series of serious-minded yet rather silly spots featuring Kimbo Slice to get it’s point across. Each of the 3 spots has a slightly different outcome following a key spot in the commercial. All 3 can be seen after the jump, they’re all funny but the 3rd and last spot is my favorite, had me cracking up. Enjoy.

The Passing Of Evan Tanner: One Year Later

When scanning my MMA news sites I was just reminded of one year ago yesterday, when the tragic news came out: Our worst fears had come true-Evan Tanner was dead. He had fought what probably was going to be his last UFC fight, a split decision loss to Kendall Grove, and was planning an extreme journey into the deserts of the Southwest, so far in that he knew he might not make it back alive. It spread quickly-”Evan Tanner May Die In The Desert” was a common headline. Sadly, it turned out to be true. In the weeks that followed fans, organizations and news sites all put together their own tributes to the fallen warrior, I myself tried to grow a full beard out along with several of my fellow MMA fans. It lasted about a month before I had to give up and shave it off. I also put one of his quotes I remembered best in my profile on one such site and on top of this blog, where it will always remain in tribute to a great fighter and a great man who overcame so many personal demons in his life. After the jump, a very well-produced tribute video and two previously unreleased videos.

Ahead of the 2 UFC events in a couple weeks, the lovely Arianny found time to do some more photoshoots, next up is one for a magazine called Status Fitness. Due out sometime this month, this too-short video highlights some of the work done for the photoshoot, and as usual Arianny is oh-so-hot in some of these shots (yes, fitness shoot means bikinis & those tight-fitting short shorts).
