Funny MMA Video Of The Day: Alistair Overeem Is Not A Ladies’ Man

Well, at least when it comes to how to treat a lady…unless they’re asking for it. You might remember that internet sensation that was Quinton Jackson givng a Cage Potato female reporter an interview a while back…and some “special attention” to go with it. Now there’s this weird clip of Alistair Overeem giving some Dutch woman an interview (hence the language you won’t understand unless you speak it) and then he goes Cristiane Santos on her. OK, he pulls the punches (and kicks) a bit but she also does a nice sell on a right cross. There are a couple different parts to this in the clip below, skip to about the 1:15 mark for the first bit then skip to about 3:10 for more…then skip to about 5:00 for even more, daaaaamn! And get this woman into wrestling…or at least on “Sport Science”. She’d do well! Enjoy. And, in the final 10-15 seconds, watch for a classic EPIC FAIL moment.

Confuseyus: UFC 102 Quick Predictions

The summer of firsts continues this weekend for UFC, this time it’s the promotion’s first trip to the Northwest for UFC 102 at Rose Garden in Portland, OR. The headlining match is another first-a better-late-than-never dream match between former champions Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, with the winner getting one step closer to perhaps getting the title back. The undercard also features fights that could determine #1 contenders for the Light Heavyweight and Middleweight Titles.
Because I waited longer than usual to do this, plus I am currently on MMA sabbatical (Confuseyus spend too much money on MMA, among other things) among other things, this time I’m only doing quick predictions. Here they are…

Again I slack off, this time because I’ve been so busy with my new puroresu blog and downloading puro videos among other things…but I haven’t forgotten, so here’s another quick one until I remember to do another one…

R.I.P. Frank Fertitta Jr.

Word came out a short time ago that Frank Fertita Jr. died today following heart surgery in Los Angeles. Fertitta was the founder of Station Casinos but may be known to MMA fans as the father of UFC owners Frank Fertitta III & Lorenzo Fertitta. Frank Fertitta Jr. ran Station Casinos until he handed the reins over to his sons in 1993, and Frank III currently is the chairman and CEO. Lorenzo stepped down as President of the company last year to focus on his role as CRO of UFC. Both Station Casinos and the UFC have yet to release an official statement.
Frank Fertitta Jr. was 71. R.I.P. and God Bless.

No, not the type done wearing gloves in a cage or ring, but the type done involving big plastic or urethane balls hurled at pins. A Cage Potato reporter did a piece with him last month for the newest issue of Fight! Magazine, due on newsstands next week, and they went bowling. Coming Next Month: Dancing With The Iceman!

Sorry my photoshopping skills won’t allow me to add a funny pic here, but next month I’m going to start doing something I’ve never done before: Watch (and recap) season 9 of “Dancing With The Stars”. I’ll be dubbing my column here “Dancing With The Iceman” because my focus will be on UFC Hall Of Famer Chuck Liddell, named as one of the 16 celebs competing this season. I’m already wondering who he’ll be paired with. Anyone else think it’s old flame Willa Ford? Either way I’ll do it as long as Chuck’s on before he either wins or eliminated…which will likely be all of one episode! But nonetheless this is something I’m going to have fun with, I hope. This will start up September 21, when the new season premieres. See you then!

Certainly was one of those weekends, Friday the “not quite hot date” I hoped for never did materialize, I got burned again. Oh well, time to move on, helped a little by today’s pic.

Well Guys, Here’s The Shot That Sums Up Last Night…

Yeah, you all must still be broken-hearted over what happened to your precious Gina last night. Don’t worry, she might get an immediate rematch or be in a determination tournament to see who’ll face Santos first. No, I wasn’t too upset about it-I picked Santos to win. Watched the fight this morning, nearly had another premature celebration! When it was stopped, I immediately thought back to Machida-Silva at UFC 94 with the buzzer-beating KO. And yes, we got proof Friday night that Mrs. Cyborg is indeed a woman-she pulled a prank on Scott Coker post-weigh-ins: Called him and told him that during pre-fight testing, they found out she was pregnant. Of course that was false. And funny. Just remember guys, it isn’t the end of the world. Besides, some guys like their women with muscles on top of muscles so it’s still all good.

Funny Video Of The Day: UFC 101.5-BeanBrawl!

This is how mainstream UFC has gotten-in the wake of Saturday’s UFC 101 event, some sports sites & blogs were mentioning UFC with video of last night’s “beanbrawl” in Boston as tempers between the Tigers & SAWX finally boiled over after a series of beanballs over the last game or two. Rick Porcello beaning Kevin Youkilis was the final straw as Youk charged and Porcello soon scored a nice takedown after a brief clinch.
