It was, at least weather-wise, a PERFECT night for baseball in Birdland, which is better known to us as Oriole Park At Camden Yards in Baltimore. The Orioles were playing the 3rd game of 4 against the Detroit Tigers, and this was Day 2 of the Matt Wieters era and there was a chance for history-Wieters was looking for his first major league hit. Confuseyus: WEC 41 Quick Predictions

Few promotions, UFC included, have the hype machine that WEC has. When they promote their big fights, they PROMOTE. Case in point: Next Sunday’s (6/7) WEC 41 main event. Mike Thomas Brown took the WEC Featherweight Championship from Urijah Faber in one of MMA’s all-time biggest upsets. Now Faber wants his belt back and he’s got his chance, and he has a chance to return the favor: Brown took the title in his native Florida while Faber can win it back in his own backyard: Sacramento, CA. WEC is pushing it as Their Biggest Fight Of All-Time. Again, but when they claim that they just about always deliver. But underneath that main event is WEC’s usual loaded card with familiar faces, some in new places including a UFC import moving down to make his WEC debut. Have a look.

After moving the original date back a couple weeks and changing the venue, as well as a few fighters on the card, Strikeforce is back and ready to return to action next Saturday night (6/6) with their next event, “Lawler vs. Shields”. Headlined by a pair of intriguing catchweight fights, the loaded main card also features a couple of former UFC champions returning to action and fights that could determine title challengers in the future. This time I’m going to do things a little different than normal and only break down the main card fights, not the prelims.

Movie Review: Tokyo Zombie

Over the weekend I picked up this movie called “Tokyo Zombie” at my local Borders, one of a handful of Japanese cult flicks they had in stock (this one doesn’t have a good DVD selection). I decided to check it out because it looked like it had an interesting premise: It’s likened to a Japanese “Shaun Of The Dead” (a cult favorite from England a few years ago, a comedy spoof of horror classic “Dawn Of The Dead”). As promised earlier today here’s my review of this rather odd flim.

Site Update: 6 Month Edition

Sounds silly I know, but in a couple days I’ll hit another significant milestone: I will have kept this blog going for 6 whole months, which I never thought I’d come even close to.
